Rumors are buzzing that Magic Mike actor, Alex Pettyfer will be playing the most coveted role of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
Alex Pettyfer reportedly shot a steamy sex scene from EL James' novel under the direction of two-time Oscar nominee Gus Van Sant. According to "The Wrap", Van Sant was not asked to shoot the scene by Focus Features, which has the rights to the novel along with Universal Pictures. He filmed the scene to show and prove how he will approach the movie if ever he were given the director role in big budget movie-adaptation.

The scene filmed was the one where innocent Anastasia Steele is losing her virginity to dominant billionaire Christian Grey. Although, the the identity of the actress who played Anastasia Steele in the scene is still unknown.
This attempt does not assure that Pettyfer will land the role Christian Grey, but he will have a good chance of getting it in case Van Sant is offererd the movie.
Aside from Pettyfer, other actors who are reported to be potential Christian Grey are Ian Somerhalder and Stephen Amell.
